Truly exceptional circa early 1910s dress in very, very good condition. The dress is made of a lightweight silk in a rich, saturated purple color. The fabric is covered in a green and magenta comma or paisley shaped print.

This is a beautiful and delicate Edwardian era net lace shawl, embroidered with threads in reddish pink, yellow, blue, and dark brown. I don’t see any holes or fading. Edwardian era.
Normal wear and patina from age and use. Patent No. 1110446 This patent was approved on September 15,1914 under inventor Albert Lange. The barrette was patented as a head-dress retaining device. The hinged top piece opens up to hold a ribbon or bow. Made of brass with a basket weave pattern, it measures about 1-1/2″ long. I have attached a printout of the drawing submitted for the patent application that was filed on Oct. 3, 1912. A copy will be sent along with the item.
