The best story your company has, no one outside the building has heard.
Every organization runs on two stories—why the founder started, and why the team stays. We find both and tell them wherever they need to land: on film, on stage, in the room, on the page.
NY / FL
The story that would make people choose you is stuck inside the company.
You’re growing, hiring, entering rooms you’ve never been in—and the reason it all matters is the thing you never say out loud. Sometimes it’s trapped in the founder’s head, too obvious from the inside to seem worth telling. Sometimes the culture is something people feel on the inside while the careers page reads like everyone else’s. Sometimes you’ve scaled until the story splintered into forty department versions with no center left. The consequence doesn’t change: talent picks the clearer why, clients pick the story they believe, and the thing that makes you worth joining stays invisible.

Our Work. Our Home. Our Land. FilmOur Work. Our Home. Our Land. Film
Thirty-five years of finding the story a company can’t see in itself—because the people living it are too close to know which part is the remarkable one.
The Foundry started in documentary film, and it still runs the work: we don’t hand you talking points, we find what’s true and make it hard to look away from. Strategists, filmmakers, photographers, and writers under one roof—so the story we uncover is the story that gets told, on every channel it has to live on.
We come from documentary. We find the true story, not the scripted one.
THE IRREPLACEABLE BRAND PLAN™
Three steps from a story no one’s heard to one people repeat.
Townsend Leather
How do you recruit the world’s best craftspeople to a town most people can’t find?
Townsend Leather is one of the last leather manufacturers in America—family-owned, in rural upstate New York, making leather for the world’s finest hotels and private aircraft. We made two films to solve their hardest problem, and applications rose about 30%.
Expertises
Services
Their hardest problem was never the leather. It was people. A craft this old needs master hands, and the best of them are scattered across the world—while the work sits in a small town they’ve never heard of. You can’t recruit someone to a story they don’t know exists.
Townsend had everything a craftsperson would want in: a rare Old-World craft carried into the modern era, a culture that trains people from the ground up, values held across generations of family ownership. None of it was visible from outside the building. The exact thing that would make someone move across the world for this job was the thing no one could see.
We came at it the way we come from—documentary. Two films, two jobs. The first told the company’s story: the history, the craft, the values that don’t bend. The second was built to recruit. Their pitch to a recruit was never “arrive finished”—it was bring the hands and the patience, we’ll teach you the rest, because this is a craft you can’t fake. One master leatherworker in the films had built his career in Pakistan; Townsend brought him in and trained him into their way of doing it.
Years later, both films are still working. Townsend credits them with lifting applications by roughly 30%—and the recruitment piece still does the talking before a candidate ever visits. The heritage film picked up a second job no one scoped: it helps buyers understand why leather made this way is worth choosing over synthetic. Two stories, told once, still earning their keep.
The story that makes people choose you—to buy from you, to build a life working for you—is usually the one you’re standing too close to tell. Told right, once, it keeps working long after the shoot wraps.
How the work runs.
Every engagement is scoped to the story in front of us—a single founder film and a full culture narrative aren't the same job. We start with a conversation about what you're building and who you need to reach, then find the smallest true story that moves them. You'll see what we're telling, and why, before we tell it.
What changes.
The reason you exist stops living in one person's head. Talent arrives already believing, clients show up half-sold, and your culture becomes something people feel from outside the building. The story compounds—every hire, every pitch, the same one deepening instead of starting over.
If your best story still lives inside the company, let's tell it.
Tell us what you're building and who needs to hear it. If we're right for it, you'll know fast. If we're not, we'll tell you.
